Ø On Tuesday July 20 and July 27 from 9.30am till 1.30pm, the cookery school, Thyme at Southrop, will be hosting a cookery morning aimed at Country Cooking for Children. Designed not only to teach children how to cook, but to give them an insight into how food is grown, produced and the health benefits. The children will be welcomed into the tithe barn, enjoy a walk round the Southrop Estate including the vegetable patch, have a talk with the Estate gardener, choose ingredients for lunch, stop at the hen house to collect eggs and return to the kitchen to cook lunch. Working with the chef, the children will learn how to make a two-course lunch of pizza, fresh garden salad followed by strawberry pavlova. Cost is £40 for children aged 8-12 years.
