Ø  The Churches Together in Fairford are holding 3 Lent soup lunches on Friday March 18, March 25 and April 8 from 12 noon till 1.30pm.  All donations received will be given to a nominated charity.

 

Ø  There will be an evening of video horse racing organized by the Lechlade & District Lions on Friday March 18 in the Palmer Hall, Fairford.  Tickets available from Fairford Post Office cost £6 to include a ploughman’s supper.  Licensed bar.  Proceeds to support the Palmer Hall.

 

Ø  There is a jumble sale on Saturday March 19 between 10am and 12 noon in Fairford Community Centre to raise funds for Fairford Pre-School.  Entrance fee is 30p per adult, children free.  Refreshments available, including cakes, teas and coffees.  For more information or to donate jumble, please call Donna on 07812 643993.

 

Ø  Watch live 6 Nations Rugby with Fairford Rugby Club at the Bull Hotel, Fairford on Saturday March 19.  Doors open at 1.30pm.  Scotland v Italy starts at 2.30pm; Ireland v England starts at 5pm and France v Wales starts at 7.45pm.  An all day ticket costs £5 for Club members or £7 for non-members.  Adult ticket includes a pig roast and cut-price bar.  Children free if accompanied by a paying adult and will include a free hot dog.  Tickets available from the Bull, Fairford Opticians and Deli Allium.  Any unsold tickets will be available on the door.

 

Ø  There is a course entitled “How to keep simple records and accounts” on Monday March 21 from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Farmor’s School, Fairford.  Louisa Coley will spend two hours showing how to set up good record keeping systems that will make doing your tax self-assessment easier.  Louisa has the patience of a saint and a naturally reassuring and gentle approach.  For more details or to book a place, please contact Sarah-Jane Menato on 01386 701868.

 

Ø  Ray Theodoulou and Chris Roberts will be holding another Council Surgery on Wednesday March 23 between 10am and 11am in the Heritage Room of Fairford Community Centre.  Please drop in without an appointment if there are any council-related issues you wish to discuss.

Ø  Fairford and Lechlade Business Club will be organising another Food & Drink Festival in Lechlade on Sunday May 1 and Fairford on Sunday June 5.  There is, however, still time to get involved by renting a stall to showcase your food and drink related product; hold an in-house event or sponsor the Festivals.  To find out more, phone Chris on 01285 712150; email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
