At the Annual Town Meeting on 25th May 2011, David Lawrence was awarded 'Citizen of the Year 2011'.

He was presented with this award by Town Mayor, Cllr Robert Winney. David quietly carries out many roles to help in the local community but is probably best known for leading the 'Walking for Health' group on Monday mornings.
