MINUTES OF THE FACILITIES COMMITTEE MEETING


HELD ON TUESDAY 2ND MARCH 2010

FC154 Apologies for Absence
 Apologies received from Cllr Frank and Cllr Harwood 

 

FC155   Declarations of Interest in items on agenda:

FC156  To confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 2nd February 2010  (pp138-140 09/10)
  It was RESOLVED to sign the minutes of the meeting held on the 2nd February 2010 (pp138- 140 09/10) as a true and accurate record of the proceedings.

 

FC157  Matters arising
 None

 

FC158  Update on CCTV project
 Cllr Cusack reported on a meeting recently held with Redhand – CCTV suppliers.  The sender  unit for wireless connectivity could be fitted to the top most part of the church which would give  greater coverage for the future.   The playing fields were also looked at with the intention of  siting a camera close by to view the park.  Other suggestions for coverage of the Market Place,  London Street and High Street were proposed.  The supplier will be sending revised  specifications.  This item to be discussed at Full Council in March.  ACTION: Clerk to add this  to Agenda for Full Council Meeting

 

FC159   To discuss Branding
 It was agreed to defer this item to next months Facilities Committee meeting due to Cllr  Harwood’s absence. ACTION: Clerk to add this item to the agenda for April’s Facilities  Meeting

 

FC160   To receive receipts & payments for January & February 2010
 Receipts & payments for January were received.  February’s receipts & payments were not  available. ACTION: Clerk to add February’s receipts & payments to the agenda for April’s  Facilities Meeting


 
FC161   To discuss FTC involvement in Fairford Festival 2010
 Following receipt of an e-mail from Cllr Hing regarding the Fairford Festival.  FTC would be  required to help with sponsorship of the children’s party and road closure orders.  ACTION:  Clerk to add this to the next Finance Committee Meeting.

 

FC162   Update on Healthcheck
 Cllr Cusack gave a brief report on a meeting held with Martin Davidson from GMTF, regarding  progress to date with the Healthcheck.  It was suggested that one person only write the final  format.  It was agreed that this should be finalised ready for the Town meeting in May.  ½ page  per category should be allocated.

 

FC163   Review of Model Publication Scheme
 It was agreed to defer this to the next Facilities meeting to allow Councillors time to look at the  previous copy and update if required.  ACTION: Clerk to add this to the agenda for the next  Facilities meeting in April.

FC164  To agree details for April’s edition of Ripples Magazine and who will draft May’s article.
 It was agreed to ask Cllr Harwood if he could prepare article for May’s edition of the Ripples  magazine, and Cllr S Jones asked for any articles to be sent to her for April’s.  POST-MEETING  NOTE:-  Cllr Harwood has agreed to prepare articles for May’s Edition


  
FC165 Update on Playing Fields
 Cllrs Harwood and S Jones had had a meeting with Chris Coucher of the GRCC who advised  on the funding of Playgrounds.  Letters to be written to Fairford Playing Fields Ltd and to the  Ernest Cook Trust regarding the  takeover of the playing fields.  It was agreed to contact  GPFA to arrange a meeting.  It was agreed to join the Playing Fields Association.  Formal  agreement to takeover the Playing fields to be added to the Agenda for Full Council.  ACTION:  Clerk to add item to Agenda for Full Council meeting in March and to write the two  letters.

 

FC166  To consider Items Chair considers urgent.
* Lack of provision of youth facilities was discussed and it was agreed that an article be added in the Ripples magazine to request parents come forward to volunteer as supervisors.  WPC Crawford has now started a Football Team for youths and has already held training sessions.
* The skate ramp surface requires painting, but this must be done on a hot day and therefore must be done ad-hoc.
* Councillor surgeries to be notified to members of the public with notices on the boards outside the Community Centre and Londis. ACTION: Clerk to post notices.
